Descendants List of Samuel & Pauline (née Schwarz) GASSENHEIMER

The family of Samuel & Pauline (née Schwarz) GASSENHEIMER is another branch of the Gassenheimer family of Bibra. No members of this branch lived in Themar as far as we know, but they connected with the Themar family through the sponsorship of Ruth Gassenheimer, daughter of Georg and Selma (née Schwab) Gassenheimer, members of the Samuel & Charlotte Gassenheimer family of Themar. For this story, see: “Who was cousin: Leo Gassenheimer?”.

Normally, the Descendants Lists on this site are compiled with significant input from family members, but in this case there has been no contact as yet. Wherever a direct (and free) internet link to the source of information is possible, the link is included; other sources are listed at the bottom.

We would of course welcome any contributions — corrections and/or additions — to the information presented here.  If you have any information or questions, please contact Sharon Meen @ s.meen79@gmail.com or smeen@mail.ubc.ca.  We would be pleased to hear from you.

May 1866, married in 1890, as wife with 2 children, Juliett, b, 1884 and Nettie, b. 1899. However, there is an 1896 marriage certificate for Simon Gassenheimer and Maude Seligman, b. 12 May 1874, which contradicts the data in the 1900 Census. The 1910 US Federal Census (available only through Ancestry.com) states that Maude was the mother of 1 child who is living; this should be Nettie, b. 1899. There is much evidence of Simon and Maude (née Seligmann) Gassenheimer, so the confusion relates to the documentation of the first wife.]
